Culinarily, Mexico is apparently the place to be this week. We are currently packing our bags for the the 2nd annual FOOD & WINE Festival in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo which kicks off tomorrow night, while on the other coast the first annual
Cancun-Riviera Maya Wine & Food Festival is wrapping up.
According to Eater, one of the highlights of the Cancun-Riviera Maya fest was an appearance by none other than Ferran Adriŕ. Among the interesting things he discussed was the Mexican restaurant that he and his brother are planning for Barcelona, his preferred way to make orange juice — simply peel and plop it in a blender to puree, to keep the maximum nutrients. Also in the works for the molecular gastronome are a museum, a foundation, and watch out wikipedia, an expansive online culinary reference work called LaBullipedia.
